Wreck-it-Ralph Birthday Party
This is what Kristen said about planning/styling the party:
“The birthday girls Aria and Vivian love both Wreck it Ralph movies. They wanted a birthday of that theme and happily, I was up for the challenge! We drew most of our inspiration from the first movie, Wreck-it Ralph. Then, only a few ideas from Ralph Breaks the Internet. The cake was the first idea that popped into my head…I was obsessed with the idea of having a working racetrack that went through the cake. My friend at Flour and Flowers by MK totally took and delivered on my cake challenge and then some! We used figurines from the movie, along with a ton of candy to create one of the coolest cakes ever equipped with an operation Mario Cart racetrack doing through it! Not only did it look amazing but it tasted amazing as well! Another idea pulled from the original movie, particularly the Sugar Rush game was the idea to have a giant balloon diet cola mountain with exploding Mentos adorning our staircase! In addition to these staircase balloons, I also create balloon ‘collages’ with candy balloons, star balloons, Wreck-it Ralph balloons and a mix of colorful latex balloons. I added a balloon arch and over-size candy made from pool noodles and duck tape to our front walkway to welcome guests. Guests got to make a trip to the favor bar and choose 2 favor items from the assortment of race cars, candy-flavored Lip Smackers, stickers, lollipops, and Wreck-it Ralph tattoos. Everyone left with the candy cart they made, their favors from the favor bar AND a “You’re My Hero” cookie I designed based on the cookie Vanellope gives Ralph in the first movie. The birthday girls dressed as Vanellope and Taffyta (two characters from the movie) and I dressed as the “relaxed Ariel” from the new Ralph Breaks the Internet movie. The costumes included custom-made candy barrettes and a custom hat for Taffyta. Other guests wore Wreck-it Ralph-inspired outfits as well! Food included burgers, brats, hotdogs, chips, pretzels, popcorn, and grilled veggies. A “Tapper” display with a variety of bottle rootbeer also was featured and a bunch of other beverages were available in coolers as well including juice boxes, water, beer, pop, and wine coolers. Many guests (the birthday girls included) said this was the coolest party they’ve ever been to! That makes it all worth it to me! I love bringing my ideas to life to make my girls (and their friends) happy!”
