‘When second-time Mom-to-be, Taylor Decker, found out she was going to become a Girl mom earlier this year – she immediately started thinking about what kind of shower she wanted to have for her little girl. As a wedding planner and designer herself, she knew this was a unique opportunity to create the perfect “blooming brunch” to celebrate! “Sometimes second babies can get the shorter end of the stick with just a ‘sprinkle’ sometimes and I felt it was really important to celebrate her arrival differently than how we celebrated my son”. Taylor also felt it was a joyous celebration given that we are now in the endemic of Covid-19 and the day of her shower for her son (born May of 2020), the world was closing down minute by minute and 3-days later the shelter-in-place order was given. The shower was inspired by nature and lush gardens, a bit of French Country, and a color palette of sage green, blush, lavender with pops of orange, purple, and gold accents. The theme was a wildflower-inspired garden party! Think: everything but the tea cups! With added touches of “Bloom Where You’re Planted” and “In a field of roses, she will be our wildflower” – there was no missing element of feminine strength. The vendor team completed the garden party ambiance with all neutral rentals, patio tables and chairs, one-of-a-kind layered vintage plates and textured napkins, floral-pressed paper, and a vintage seating area for Mom to sit during gifts – complete with a gorgeous spread of finger sandwiches and delightful pastries and more. The gorgeous backdrop and balloon installation from Balloon Ladies was the perfect backdrop during group pictures. Mama also made sure each guest went home with their own set of wildflower seeds in compostable and plantable paper for each guest to start their very own wildflower-inspired garden.
