This is what Ali shared about the party- “For Oakley’s 1st Birthday I decided to stick with the fox/woodland theme that he has in his nursery. Im still obsessed with his nursery. Ill have to blog post about that someday, too! His nursery colors are mint/orange/grey/natural wood. I love this theme and those colors oh so much. I added in more gold/metallic to his party and Im super glad I did! So Im just going to walk you through this whole thing and give a shout-out to as many of my resources that I can!
I N V I T A T I O N S :
I worked with Nicole from SimplySweetPrintShop to get these crazy amazing and perfect invitations and matching 1st Birthday Poster! She already had the woodland theme invites/poster for sale in her Etsy shop, but she was able to change the wording and colors to fit my theme! Yay-hoo! The best part was that SHE WAS SO FLIPPIN NICE! And responsive! And timely! Im excited to work with her again and again!
W A T C H { ME } G R O W :
I took monthly and weekly pictures of Oakley knowing that I was going to want to make a flip-book out of the weekly ones. I am so glad I did because its the perfect addition to his little hope-chest weve started for him. Its still hard to believe how much hes grown even with weekly proof of it!
M O N T H L Y { PICTURE } D I S P L A Y:
My handy-husband built me this frame out of scrap wood and I used my favorite technique to paint it. Every number attached to its coordinating monthly picture of Oak is what he actually wore in the picture (hence the wrinkles and tears). This made it all the more special for me. I printed the pictures out, glued it all together, threw up some twine, and used mini clothesline clips to hang them. Oh and then I had to add a burlap banner of course! ( yes I love banners. )

I used the same wood backdrop that Ive been using for Oaks monthly pictures as the backdrop for the Photo Booth. Then I made a Party Animals banner, printed a sign, assembled the props and voila a photo booth is born! I sent her the invite and told her I wanted it to look like that and I seriously still cant believe how flippin perfect it is! And that little smash cake too! GAHHH! Not to mention the most amazingly tasting cake on the planet! Plus she was able to make the top tier gluten free for our GF family members! I cannot say enough about this cake or Ashley!
