Whimsical Watercolor Elephant Birthday Party
This is what was shared about the party- “The inspiration for the party was all based on the birthday girl’s name. I thought it might be fun to soften the very modern design of Charles Eames and combine watercolor and softer pastels rather than his usual very primary color scheme. I had a custom design of the Eames elephant in watercolor, that carried through the invitations, to the custom tablecloth and plates. Then I used his atomic design for the napkins but in a very very soft almost tonal grey. I then used felt balls to incorporate that atomic design throughout the event as well. We handmade all the paper elephants in the soft pastel tones as decor. Then, I added structural paper flowers as the table runner. Since Charles Eames was a mid-century modern designer who also created children’s furniture it was nice to meld the whimsy with the structural elements as well. The table was outfitted of course with Charles Eames chairs. The lounge area with an Eileen Gray couch and a Charles Eames rocker. As a gift everyone went home with a hand-painted pot with an air plant. The food was very casual with burgers on the grill and fabulous desserts made by Sweet and Saucy Shop and Twosweet. Since this was a first birthday we kept the activities simple with just swings and a ball pit. Everything was beautifully captured.” See more large party ideas worthy of pachederms!
