Teachers always have such a profound influence on us. Whether it be something they taught, their encouragement, or simply their love, we seem to carry it with us throughout our lives! So, when this this Vintage Retirement Tea Party by Lara Anderson, out of Los Altos Hills Ca USA, came along, I knew I had to share it! Filled with sweet spring colors, custom decor and darling vintage details, this event, is one you won’t want to miss! Vintage Retirement Tea Party Details:
This is what Lara shared about the party- “After many years of watching my mom throw tea parties for her second grade students each year, I thought it was appropriate to give her the greatest tea party I could for her retirement. Over her 20+ years of teaching she became quite the “Queen Bee” around school. I knew that would be a running theme through out the party. I bought her an AMAZING hat from Ruby and Cordelias. It really got things started. My Grandmother collected Myott dishes and they really influenced the vintage feel. I used my vintage sheet collection to bring in the floral aspect as well. Between my awesome aunts and I we made over a thousand tissue flowers. We filled honey jars with honey from our own bees, made many chalkboard signs, and made so many hors doeuvres I can’t even count. One of the most meaningful things we did was add every student’s name to a flower to create her own garden. We had around 150 guests and asked everyone to sign in on a personalized sheet made by Sara Alexander Art, as well as a vintage dictionary where they could circle a word that describes my mom and write a little note. The pictures were taken by Jennifer Pope. I had dreamed of throwing my mom a retirement party for years. I felt really great about how we all came together.”
