Vintage Mary Had A Little Lamb Party Details: This is what Anna said about planning the party- “I created this sweet Mary had a Little Lamb party for my daughter Mary’s 5th birthday. It was set up under our blossoming jacaranda trees. I chose pastel pink and blue gingham as my main colour scheme, adding touches of lilac and white. I really wanted the display to be very textural so I used a fluffy woollen blanket and a ruffle throw as my table covering. I also added different types of wool to decorate the milk bottles and other pieces. One of my favourite features of the party was the old timber door backdrop hanging from the tree. I hand stitched Mary’s name onto vintage fabric with “Had a Little Lamb” on the last panel. I also added a vintage wooden lamb underneath the writing. I made a paper bunting from an old vintage “Mary had a Little Lamb” picture book I found, which was hung underneath the door. The beautiful printables came from Kay and May on etsy, and were truly inspirational. I made all of the food, including the pink ruffle feature cake . Chocolate coated oreos, Vanilla rose cupcakes, number 5 sandwiches, a sweet lolly buffet and marshmallow pops were all on the menu. Daisy cookie pops were hidden in the potted cottage garden in front of the feature cake. Little white picket fences framed the grass topped wooden rises for the cupcakes. Little lamb sugar cookies were placed in mini baskets as favours for the guests. They were also given a handmade lolly bag and a vintage Little Golden Book. Personalised mini tin buckets were filled with lollies and treats for each guest to enjoy. My talented daughter Alice made Mary’s costume. Everything about this party was so delightful and I loved every minute of it’s planning. We only invited two other families to enjoy this intimate gathering, mindful not to overwhelm our little 5 year old daughter. ( Our own 8 children also added to the numbers!!)
