VINTAGE CHIC 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY DETAILS:
Diane said this about the party – “I designed and handcrafted all details of the party from the invitation, tablescape design, decor, and paper goods. My sister-in-law and I even baked/iced the cake and cupcakes. Flowers from the local store and all the fabric details were reconstructed items, from second hand materials. The reconstructed items include the shredded wall backdrop, the end ties and bows on all the banners, the ties on the mason jars and flower jars, and the handmade cover for the cake stand (the stand is actually a reused wooden fruit box). The only piece I kept intact and did not reconstruct was the deep vintage pink round table cloth. Handcrafted items include cake stand “cover”, cake topper, monogram letter, shredded fabric wall backdrop, suspended cotton string decor, embellished fanned wall decor, water bottle labels, favor tags, drink tags, flag straws, invitation (invite, envelope liner, and printed envelopes), birthday girl flag stick, cupcake toppers, happy birthday banner, gift table banner, high chair banner, flagged banner for the wooden box used for the favors (bags of biscuit mix), and birthday girl floral headband. The paper mache monogram letter was painted and covered with decorative paper. The color palette (pink, deep vintage pink, vintage turquoise, ivory with accents in a vintage teal) evolved from a stack of scrap papers I had sitting in my studio space, in which I used to create the embellished fanned wall decor. The diaper cake was a handmade gift from my sister-in-law. Then I used burlap, twine and touches of lace and felt, to tie the vintage chic theme together. Burlap wrapped around the flower jars and as a table cloth and made small twine bows for the cupcake wraps. All photos taken by me as well. Hope you enjoy and share with your readers!
