Vintage Barnyard Party Details: This is what Melissa said about planning/styling the party- “A farm themed 2nd birthday party only seemed fitting for this little boy who recently mastered all the farm animals names and their sounds. The site of a pig or chicken makes this little boy shreak! The plans started with a petting zoo and then the details just developed from there. We wanted to make this farm inspired party different than others and we did that by incorporating a vintage twist in the decor and for the sweets table. Simply Perfect Events (SPE) stylized a sweet table using antique kitchen items collected from family members of the host. It was all set to a red farm fence backdrop complete with a windmill, tin rooster, custom birthday banner and signage. The sweet table showcased comfort, homemade style sweets such as- pies, banana chocolate chip bread, turtle brownies, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, and strawberry shortcake. The main indoor room hosting the party brought a bit of the farm indoors with faux grass lining the floors, rustic farm tables, and hay bales. The kids table was a self made farm table with covered hay bales for the kids to use at seats. Each child received a “Gene’s Farm” basket with sandwiches, a chip mix and apple juice packaged and label in mini milk bottles. The sandwiches were wrapped in cloth which then doubled as their napkins. To add to the seating area, we used a traditional blue and white check overly and created small bunches of flowers in cans with various vintage produce labels- all were different and unique. SPE also created a ice tea lemonade bar with two varieties of sweet teas and lemonade with the option for enhancement by adults. This was created using re purposed wine barrels and distressed wood pieces. After lunch, the kids dressed the farmer part with cowboy hats and bandannas and were set loose to play with farm animals brought on site- pot belly pig, lambs, ducks, a goose, bunnies, chicks, and pony rides. The guests took home with them a pre measured self bake cookie mix “Gene’s Feed” in large Ball jars to bake a sweet treat on their own”. Love Kara’s Party Ideas?
