Vintage Airplane Birthday Party
Vintage Airplane Party Details:
This is what Alyssa shared about styling the party- “This was for my sons 2nd Birthday Party. He loves all things Cars, Trains and Planes and instead of incorporating all three, we choose one of his favorites and went with a Vintage Airplane Theme party. First things first, I always design the invitation and then build around that. I wanted to do something different than a boarding pass, so I designed a Paper Airplane Invitation that the kids could fold and have some fun with too! Then of course, a coordinating address wrap. I wrapped the invites in bakers twine with a tag saying, Fold me into a paper airplane. Then attached these tiny wooden airplanes that were engraved saying, Graysons 2nd Birthday.
Kids Table
When thinking of the kids table, I like to bring in the same elements and feel there as well. I designed this flying Airplane on my silhouette and strung it across the kids table. I anchored it to two buckets on each end with plaster of paris in the buckets and used wooden rods. Then used fiber fill to the top of the buckets to look like clouds. I did In-flight meals which included a Airplane sandwich which I found a cookie cutter online and just cut out the sandwiches with. In-flight Snacks were goldfish and pretzels. For the placemats, theyre just 12×12 Scrapbook paper again, found at Hobby Lobby. Its a inexpensive and create way to make a placemat. The Road down the middle was tape found in the Model Car section of Hobby Lobby. For all the desserts, with it being more of a Vintage Airplane party, I wanted some vintage desserts like, fruit tarts, pies, and cake in a jar among other fun current desserts. I painted an old globe, cut the wording in vinyl using my Silhouette Machine and just stuck it to the globe. Fun project!
Games and Favors
One of the games I had for the kids was this Airplane Toss game. I set up little foam airplanes for them to make and then fly them through the holes of the large stand up game. Once they were done playing, they received a Flight school Completion certificate with their name on it. As the kids got ready to leave you have to have a Baggage Claim station for them to take their favors home. It was also my husbands birthday and I wanted to do something special for him and the guys that were there and were troopers for a kids party. I set up this First Class Lounge bar area that was strictly 21 and over ONLY”. Grab your bags and come collect these party ideas: Zoom!
