The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party Details: This is what Sara said about styling/designing the party- “For my son’s second birthday party I decided to choose a theme based on his favorite bedtime story book – The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. I wanted to create a dessert table that was bright and fun with an earthy quality. A cake with the hungry caterpillar himself and all his favorite food was the highlight of the table. I used graphics I found online from the book, such as strawberries, plums, pickles and cherry pie, to make my own cupcake toppers. My son even had his own personalized cupcake with a tiny caterpillar topper. Apple shaped red velvet cake pops were displayed upon a tree trunk disc and we laid moss out to give it an outdoorsy feel. I included kid friendly treats like goldfish crackers and jello to satisfy the little guests. The kids also loved the decorated sugar cookies that were made to match the items from the book. At the end of the party every kid went home with their own personalized hungry caterpilla r canvas tote loot bag. These were designed by me using an online graphic and printed on iron-on transfer sheets. They party was a hit and most importantly, my son had the best time”! Love Kara’s Party Ideas?
