I know it can be easy to skip over Thanksgiving after Halloween, because Christmas seems more appealing. In our family Thanksgiving is a very important Holiday. It is a time to be Thankful for what we have. A time to spend with family and friends. A time to give to others and spread the love. Since Thanksgiving has no gift giving; there is not the pressure of spending money. Instead it is a wonderful time to sit, relax, and enjoy company of loved ones. I absolutely love the idea behind a Thankful Tree! So I created one for the centerpiece of our seating table! You can also have this on the dessert table, kitchen counter, fireplace mantel .It can go anywhere! I created Printable Thankful Card Hang Tags that are part of the FREE Download package. You simply have your guest write what they are thankful for and hang on the tree. In my family we have always gone around the table and discussed what we were thankful for, and I love that tradition. I kept the dessert table easy this year by doing all mini desserts. This way there is no cutting slices or pieces. Everyone can grab a few different dessert options and start eating! Pumpkin Pie is my favorite YUMMY! I used white pumpkins ordered online with Autumn Harvest Pumpkins. They are elegant and easy to decorate with. I kept all of the dishes white so the desserts would really stand out. I set the dessert table up under my dining room gallery wall. This was an easy and instant backdrop. For the seating table I used branches from Michaels for the Thankful Tree and filled the tree with the FREE Printable Thankful Tags. This way everyone could take on down and write what they are Thankful for during the meal and then add back to the tree. I also gave all of the guest Thankful notebooks. This can encourage your family to try and write one thing they are Thankful for in the notebook each day for a year. Then next year at Thanksgiving they can look back and count their blessings. I used metal ornaments for the place card holders.
