Mario Party Details:
This is what Rachel said about planning the party- “I created this party for our son Jameson, who just turned 7. The past year he has really been getting into Super Mario Bros, so this theme was a perfect match for him. I really wanted to incorporate as many of the fun details from the game as I could, including all of the beloved characters. The bright colors created a great backdrop to everything else. The party was held at our house in the evening, leaving many of the boys to spend the night for some late night gaming. When our guests entered the house they were greeted with a sign that told them to grab a hat and mustache (crowns were available for our “Princess Peaches”). Then to kick start the party, the kids each made their own personalized pizza in “Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen”. Each pizza was served in an individual pizza box. The kids could write their names on it and it helped us keep track of who’s pizza was who’s. Plus, it’s just fun to get your own box ;) After dinner, were the activities – I think my favorite part about the party! We had a Yoshi Egg hunt, as well as a super fun obstacle course that was played to the Super Mario theme song. Guests were able to dodge Mario ghosts, stomp goombas, and jump over green pipes. After the games were played everyone came inside to enjoy cake and ice cream and other Mario treats. For the boys that stayed the night, we played glow stick tag outside and then settled in to play some Wii and watch a Mario movie. Guest left with a cute mystery box bag filled with goodies such as “Yoshi tongue” blowouts, chocolate Wii remotes and mustache whistles. Inspired by the TV that you painted blue for the same theme, I knew I couldn’t pass up a free TV that I found on the side of our street, so I took it in and painted it a bright red and added a Game Over sign. I had a blast styling this party! When leaving the party, many of the boys asked if they could even bring some of the decorations home with them, so I think it was a success. ”
