Strawberry Elmo Party Details:This is what Karen said about planning the party- “Sienna & Savannahs second birthday party had to be twice as special, after all it was a party for two -who were turning two! I had initially planned a strawberry themed party however closer to date as they had come to love and adore everything Elmo, I had to somehow incorporate the little red furry monster into the party. STRAWBERRIES & ELMO: The only thing strawberries and Elmo had in common it seemed was the colour red and so that naturally became the colour palette along with shades of pinks for girly touches. Though I wasnt exactly sure how to incorporate both themes, I wanted something quite different from the typical Elmo licensed party with his red furry face plastered on everything so instead I played up on the strawberries. I collaborated with Squared Hearts to customize a red and pink strawberry printable package, complete with the perfect strawberry. I decided to feature Elmo where it mattered most to the kids: a red wagon filled with Elmo dolls, favor table with Elmo dolls peeking out of the strawberry gift bags and a flying Elmo hanging on to a red balloon over the fence. OH SO MUCH FUN: In terms of activities, the children all had oh so much fun just running around in the yard itself, jumping in the bouncy castle, riding on the red bouncy horses and swimming in the green ombre ball pit pool. An Elmo mascot made an appearance as well, posing for pictures and spending quality time with the birthday girls! We also had a bubble machine as well as red and pink helium balloons for each child. RED VELVET & STRAWBERRY There were two coordinating birthday cakes in red velvet with cream cheese frosting and pink strawberry with strawberry frosting. The cakes were piped with vertical ruffles and topped in matching red and pink number two candles and red Elmo toppers. Using the same batter I baked cupcakes topped with customized red and pink gum paste strawberries to match the strawberries on the invitations. Mini brown sugar butter tarts, mini strawberry donuts, red and pink macarons, strawberry twizzlers and sour cherry balls completed the sweets table. SWEET FAVORS: For the grown-ups, we gave so sweet of you to come mini mason jars filled with strawberry candy. For the kids, we gave Elmo mini plushes along with Elmo sketchpads and Crayola jumbo crayons for the girls and Sesame Street racer car sets for the boys in paper bags each adorned with a strawberry”.
