Star Wars Birthday Party
You don’t have to leave the galaxy to gain the inspiration needed for a spectacular Star Wars 5th Birthday Party. No detail was left out when planning and executing this party and after spending a minute perusing the photos, I am sure you will agree! Some elements to watch out for from this awesome birthday bash include:

Star Wars Party Details: This is what Stacey shared about the party- “The force is strong with this one…. Having seen the original movie in the theater in the 70s (ACK!), I was only too happy to indulge my son when he said he wanted his 5th birthday party to be Star Wars themed. Since we only do birthday parties on odd years, it was go big or go home. Guests were greeted by some familiar facesR2D2 and C-3PO. Kids put on their Luke or Leia Jedi robes made from felt & the requisite Leia hair bands, and picked up their pool noodle light sabers before heading to Planet Much for a fun activity filled afternoon. They could indulge their creative sides by designing their own R2D2-inspired droids, coloring in Star Wars coloring book pages or decorating their own rebel spaceship made from a cardboard box. For those that like more action, we had a Destroy the Death Star cornhole game and a bouncy house. They were also able to take off in a Lukes landspeeder or Hans Millennium Falcon, both made from cardboard boxes. A Jedi even stopped by to teach the kids on how to use the force. They used that new knowledge to break open the paper mache Death Star piñata. It looked more like a Death egg. #pinterestfail We kept the kids hydrated with Yodapple Jedi Juice and Jawa Wawa served in Star Wars themed reusable milk bottles. Each had a chalkboard label so they could write their names to keep track. Straws had little G flags. The Jedis parents went to the dark side with Vaderitas (ginger beer margaritas) in mason jars. Inside, heavy finger food could be lunch or snack and included Jar Jar Links (mini corn dogs), Fin Solo Sticks (fish sticks), etc. Guests were encouraged to use the light saber napkins and eco-friendly bamboo forks, hand-stamped with silver chevron pattern and blue stars. The dessert table was the real show stopper. R2D2s Smore Push-pops were a crowd-pleaser, as were the Death Star cake pops. The Wookies Cookies were adorned with the faces of C-3PO, Chewbacca, Yoda and Darth Vader, all made from molding chocolate using cookie cutters. Serving cak e to younger kids can take forever, so I always go with cupcakes- they only eat the frosting anyway! They were wrapped with star cupcake wrappers and decorated with character inspired cupcake toppers that I made using a die-cutter. Guests saved them and took them home! The salted caramel chocolate cake was devoured by the adults. Mmmm… I tried to keep the décor Star Wars inspired rather than being too on the nose. I went with a blue, white, gray and black color scheme. Tissue paper tassel garland hung from the front porch, while crepe streamer was used to create the tassel table skirts. A Star Wars curtain made for a great backdrop for the food, and black felt with white glitter stars was the backdrop for the dessert table. I painted MDF GREYSON letters with silver glitter paint and underlined them with tissue paper light sabers. The adult table centerpieces were futuristic looking flowers in Death Star inspired and made using vases I had in my garage, silver & glitter spray paint and black washi tape. The mini concrete Death Star vases, made using silicon ice cube molds, were scattered throughout . Almost all of the décor was repurposed and used to redecorate Greysons room. Before leaving the party, guests got their photos taken, which were printed and mailed with thank you notes. Favors were set below a Yoda saying and included a light saber bubble wand and Chewy Treat (cocoa krispie treats). All the little Jedis left with their robes and light sabers, so they could wear them on Halloween. Greyson did!
