Space Galaxy Birthday Party
This is what Yao said about styling the party:
“I held my little boy, Leo’s Blast Off space birthday party a few months ago and the party was out of this world! Leo has become such a fan of planets, solar system and space ships this year. So I knew when he turned 4, I had to throw the most epic space party for my little astronaut.
THE BACKDROP
The party was hosted in my back yard. To create a deep space vibe, I planned a palette of galaxy colors with onyx black, silver and white. I built this super cool balloon cloud on top of the food table and put a giant sparkling number four foil balloon to mark this milestone.
THE FOOD
My husband was originally from Brazil so we had a Brazilian style barbecue to serve our guests at the party. The adorable two-tier birthday cake was from Daphne from the DH Cake Studio in the SF Bay Area. She also made us some super fun space cake pops that were not only adorable but extremely addicting! I think Leo might have had a least 4 of them!
PARTYWARE
I got all these adorable party decorations and tableware from Momo Party, an online party boutique. They curate unique party supplies and put them into fun collections. Their party in a box by theme makes party planning so easy which I highly recommend for any busy parents!
ENTERTAINMENT
I also set up a play area on the side with a cute tent and an awesome space rug for the kids. I styled this area with a cool garland and a rocket foil balloon on top. These cool space elements really helped set the scene of the party and of course, the little ones had a blast!
PARTY FAVORS
Lastly, for the party favors, I deliberately steered clear of sweet treats for health reason. This year I found some glowing kaleidoscopes and rocket pencils that are great for pre-schoolers. I DIY’d the goodie bags with some space stickers and the kids absolutely went astro-nuts about all the goodies!’
