Shirley Temple Party Details:This is what Cynthia said about planning/styling the party- “This birthday was a very special 1st birthday for my niece Emma. Her mother, my sister-in-law Tricia, started planning this birthday from the time Emma was about 6 months old. The details all came together about a month before the party after a major brainstorming session. Although I was in charge of the decor, set up, and some details of this party, it was my sister-in-law’s vision for her first daughter’s birthday that made it all that more special. Since Emma’s birthday is very close to Valentine’s Day, the Shirley Temple birthday theme took on a “Valentine’s day” feel very easily. The color scheme was vintage colored Red, Pink, White. And, of course the child actress Shirley Temple (who passed away only days before the party) was featured throughout many of the details. There was a lot of fun stuff from this party including a Shirley Temple drink station, a tea party table, kids crafts table, and a yummy dessert table featuring baked goods from Creme De La Creme Bakery in Corona, CA. The children’s party favors were hand painted and personalized jewelry boxes for the girls and vintage toys for the boys. The decor included garland featuring heart doilies, handmade paper fans, and paper dresses strung with twine. The custom invitation and birthday poster, made by me, Kindasillymommy, included a photo of the birthday girl wearing a beautiful custom dress from Lover Dovers Clothing. Another highlight of the decor was the printed classic movie posters from Shirley Temple films as well as framed pictures of the beloved child actress. The party took place only a few days after Shirley Temple passed away, and because of that, many of the party guests enjoyed reminiscing about their favorite Shirley Temple film.
