Science Party Details: This is what Adele said about planning the party- “My son started in Grade R with Experi-buddies Science Education (an educational science programme that uses experiments to show young children that the world of science can be fun. It is an extra-mural activity that is presented by independent facilitators at various schools) and loved it from the start. – South Africa So we decided to hold his 6th birthday party (16 August 2014) in a real science way. We got Experi-buddies to host the activities. I lay out our large enough table for the 12 kids. Experi-Buddies provided the jackets and safety goggles. I {Dizzy Dinos Party Printables} designed for each child a name tag. Also on the table were measuring tubes, filled with either sweets (mini astros) or water and decorated with danger signs. Prints of and real test tubes completed the picture on the working table with a sign of the experiments they will be doing. She { Henriette from Experi-buddies} focused on: Rocket to the moon Ghoo Vulcano Tea bag that fly Bottle that swallow a balloon Coke zero rocket Magnetism I did 2 extra experiments @ Bouncy balls @ Monster slime Then I did the dessert table. Loved working with the colors. Blue yellow green orange purple and white. Each child got a chinese takeout box decorated with each child’s name and ribbon and cut outs on the handle. Each box were filled with chips, sweets, snap clappers and smoke bombs. Each child could mix their own colddrink with 25ml apple cold drink concentrate and sprite in the dispenser. Cups indicated measurements so that each child could measure their drink 1:11 Treats on the table: Petri dishes with jello and jello frogs {padda ontleding} Test tubes in little boxes filled with candy coated nuts {atome in proefbuise} Test tubes filled with astros Marshmallow mice (Laboratorium muise ie lab rats} Sour strings (DNA Stringe) Little balls filled with a surprise {protone} syringes filled with coloured condensed milk with a jelly tot to keep it from leaking {suiker inspuitings} Test tubes filled with jello and sour worms {evolusie} Little worms packages like tablets will be gum balls Decorations consisted of science flasks filled with coloured water and dry ice for effect Bunting Banner with Erik’s name {Er+i=k} ie all elements on the periodic table Buffet labels to give each treat a name Straws with toppers Danger signs Microscope plastic mice magnifying glass The cake was done by Lize van der Walt The flask as well as the boy was cake.
