This is what Hazell shared about the party- “Where do we even begin to describe the amazing details of this wonderful celebration? Our client, Mommy Jenny, had a clear vision of what she wanted for Gab’s party. She wanted it to be realistic looking filled with subtle contrasts of earth tone colors, pattern and textures. Since we only had three weeks ( Yes! It’s definitely possible ) to conceptualize, fabricate ( This involved plenty of carpentry works, sewing and crafting. ) and execute, we rolled up our sleeves and got down to work. 90% of the materials that we used for styling were REAL props.
- Real trees that were 8-12 ft tall
- Real plants of various shapes and sizes
- Hanging plants and vines
- Real moss
- Wooden logs
- Wooden Cottage with a wooden fence for the dessert buffet
- Wooden frame with a wire mesh ( to display Gab’s photos )
- Wooden camper van for the photo booth area Some of the other details were carefully planned out and executed to add more character to the theme. Each was done with a certain restraint to achieve a full and finished look, which also had to appear clean and uncluttered at the same time.

- Trail mix Set an overall treatment for the concept you have in mind. Choose specific colors, patterns and textures to combine to create one coherent look. Rustic woodland can be achieved by putting design elements at the right place. One doesn’t necessarily have to go overboard with the decors, because keep in mind that balance and proportion are crucial when it comes to styling. Do not rely on your memory to keep track of all the details that you have in mind. Write everything down! Make an illustration or graphic layout of your ideas and design. This way, you would know ahead of time what to purchase, and this will make your life so much easier, too, since you have a constant reference for your design”. :)
