Rustic Wild Rumpus Party Details: This is what Temi said about the party- “To say that a babys 1st birthday is a big deal, is an understatement in the Korean culture. Its such an important celebration of life since survival rates were not as favorable back in the day. Its called a dol and in more cases than not, the planning is taken very seriously. We are talking bridezilla serious. We had 120 guests so a house party was not an option. Most of our guests were adults and babies under the age of 1, so we held it at a restaurant. Being a very girly girl myself, I struggled with the more obvious boy themes for this celebration. Even though there are so many adorable decorations available on the web, it was a challenge to get inspired. I will dive into trucks and race cars for his other birthdays when the guest list is a tad smaller. “Where the Wild Things Are” was a perfect theme for my son is a little party animal! I decided to take a more rustic approach. I turned to Etsy for some of the décor and designed some things on my own. Birch poles and seeded eucalyptus were a must! We were so fortunate to have a friend pick them up in her SUV and drop them off back at the florist for us. She also illustrated the doljabi tags. The birthday really holds sentimental value for my family because my mother-in-law suddenly passed weeks after. She absolutely loved my son to pieces. It is bittersweet, but we are thankful that we had one last joyous occasion with her surrounded by family and friends.” I’ll eat you up I love you so!
