The Puppy PAW-ty Details:
This is what Pamelyn shared about the party- “Maverick and Me is an adorable book about puppy adoption, written by Katherine Schwarzenegger. It was inspired by her real life Maverick and their adoption story. We styled a sweet and cuddly launch party at the Annenberg Pet Space in Playa Vista, CA. The outdoor venue was open and spacious and allowed for some really cool activities. There was no wondering if the guests were at the right party because we used vinyl paw prints on the sidewalk to direct them where to go. And the huge 40 red mylar balloons that spelled BOW WOW didnt hurt either. The first stop was a photo opp and Instagram worthy moment at the custom grass backdrop that included the Maverick and Me logo, tennis balls, bones, paw prints and of course a fire hydrant!
Puppy Adoption Center
We thought it would be sweet to set-up a Puppy Adoption Center so kids can feel what it is like to go thru the process. They started with choosing which stuffed puppy they liked the best, followed by filling out the adoption certificate and giving their puppy a name! Some of the kids needed name inspiration and lucky enough we had the Top 25 dog names written on paper bones and placed on the backs of all of the chairs at the craft stations. Although, I think all of the names were pretty original, including Fluff Fluff!
Bling!!
And you cant take a puppy home without giving it some bling! We set up a Puppy Collar Station where kids could make their puppies their own collars with a variety beads and name tags. We used pipe cleaners instead of string so that it would be easier for the kids to do themselves and it worked perfectly! Blacktie Kids helped us set up another craft making station where kids got to put together pieces Because the book promotes puppy adoption and we hosted the event at the Annenberg Pet Space, which is an animal adoption center, we wanted to do something special for the puppies. We set-up a Give Back Blanket craft where the kids and parents got to choose from a dozen different patterns and make fleece blankets for the puppies that we donated that day. Guests sat on custom blankets and Maverick and Me pillows by Erin Condren.
Puppy Chow
The Puppy Chow of choice was custom cookies by Amys Cakes and Sweet Treats. Too much cuteness. Once the kids got their snacks they were ready to PAWTY! They danced the day away with beats by DJ Maasha and interactive games. If dancing wasnt their thing, we had a dog bowl bean bag toss game. The party ended with a reading of the book by Katherine. The kids were so into it and everyone left with a smile on their face and a puppy in their hand”. Vendors: Host – Mom.me Party Styling – Bashery & Co.
