 Peachy Prickly 1st Birthday Party

Phuong’s party description- “Our clients Luke and Cat consider themselves a bit #extraaf and wanted to throw an intimate ranch-fancy birthday party at their home for their one-year-old son Knox. They love cacti, their home, their cattle and baby boy, so we used all this as our inspiration for this ONE Peachy Prickly birthday party. We wanted to steer away from the typical blues and greens, so we used alot of peach, sage and pops of orange instead. We chose a neutral palette of taupe, ivory, gray, peach bronze, copper, and sage with a pop of orange since for an outdoor party in the Texas summer heat. We painted a peachy backdrop with cacti to set the stage for the dessert table and for the birthday boy to smash his cake in front of it. The balloon arch was set over the client’s gate because they wanted to make sure the entire county would be able to see the celebration! The dining tables were set in the front yard, so guests can take a seat immediately after arriving and then enjoy the cocktails and desserts through the gate into the backyard. Checkered taupe linens were picked to tie into the summer casual feel, while ghost chairs and the plate settings elevated the look with a modern and elegant touch. Alicia came out of retirement as a wedding photographer to shoot this party for her friends. She’s now a talented sugar cookie baker and came up with this gorgeous set after we sent her our inspiration! Luke and Cat really love cacti, so we mixed an assortment of plants into planters with fresh florals like garden roses, roses, pincushions, nigella, stock, snapdragons, and irises. We planted some cacti with white bean pebbles to give them a modern look. Nib and Pixel created a casual but upscale look for the invitation and menu with hand-painted cacti! She also created place cards with nopales to match the theme. We asked her to design a welcome sign for guests to sign as they arrive and it would also be something Luke and Cat would cherish forever. We sent her photos of their house and their beloved cattle, and she created this amazing wood board with an acrylic overlay for guests to write their wishes on it. The couple will hang this in their house after party. Post-Studio Projects produced the signed for us using Nib and Pixel’s design. Knox’s smash cake had a cactus painted on it with a cake topper designed by Nib and Pixel and produced by Post-Studio Projects. The cake was meant to look darling for the one-year-old, with zero thorns to make it easy for him to tear into it! A larger cake was made for the adults to enjoy with peach watercoloring to imitate Houston’s sunsets, and copper icing drips for pop. We added real cacti and blooms to the top to finish it off. It was an almond orange funfetti cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream and it was delicious! Appetizer- Pacific Coast Crab Cakes with a Chipotle Cream Sauce Salad- Red Sage Salad with Chile Lime Shrimp Fresh romaine, cucumber, mandarin, cherry tomatoes, red onion cotija cheese and house vinaigrette Entree- Argentinian Surf & Turf Seared beef tenderloin topped with a warm seafood salad and a side of chimichurri Roasted yucca with cilantro and lime Sauteed Baby Carrots with cinnamon and wildflower honey Party Favors-Gold pinata cacti with orange blooms filled with Mexican candy.”   Delight awaits in this Pastel Cactus Fiesta Birthday Party and this Pastel Cactus Party   Love Kara’s Party Ideas?
