Paris Patisserie Inspired Tween Party Details This is what Tammy said about planning the the party- “Each year my daughter and I have so much fun planning her birthday parties. The older she gets the harder it gets to find party themes that are fun for older kids. We were planning to visit Paris this summer, and she loves to bake, so we thought of a Patisserie party. II teamed up with my friend Shana of Society Sweets to create a hands on Patisserie themed baking party. It was a hit! The nook in our kitchen is recessed and I just thought it would be too cute dressed up like a pretty French bakery. After looking at some inspiration images of real French store fronts, I came up with the idea of creating a facade IN the house and creating a fake store front. With some tension rods, foam board and paint I was able to create a fun shop right in the kitchen! Pretty pastries from the grocery store decorated cake pedestals in our bakery. The places at the kitchen island were set for each girl with an apron, rolling pin, bakery box and dish towel. Shana led the girls through the process of making 4 different French themed desserts over the course of 90 minutes. It was so fun for the girls to get to do so much in the kitchen. They even helped decorate the beautiful birthday cake Shana had made for Ashley. Each of the girls filled their bakery boxes with goodies from the Patisserie to take home as party favors.
