Pastel Shopkins Birthday Party Details:
This is what April shared about styling the party- “Attention all shoppers are you ready for a party spree? My daughter is obsessed with all things Shopkins. So when her third birthday rolled around, it was an obvious decision to go with the Shopkins theme. However, rather than going the commercial décor route using bright bold colors, we opted for a soft pastel palette of mint green, pale yellow, pink and lavender. To set the stage, we had a custom Shopkins invitation designed incorporating an ombre water color effect. Our little Shoppers were invited to sit at their own table decorated with an ombre pink and lavender linen, which matched the invitation. Each guests seat was indicated using mini shopping carts with custom name tags. The table decorations included donut shaped drink holders, a whimsical pastel floral arrangement and of course adorable Shopkins characters sprinkled around the table like confetti. For the dessert area, we decided to use the fireplace mantle rather than a traditional table. I handmade a wooden beaded tassel garland to drape across the mantel. Guests enjoyed an assortment of yummy Shopkins inspired dessert including rice krispy treats, cake pops, cookies, cupcakes and the cutest little Shopkins cake. For entertainment, the kids were all made honorary members of the Shopkins Chefs Club making their own personal pizza. We had a Shopkins temporary tattoo station as well as a crafts table where kids made their own bracelets and colored Shopkins coloring sheets. A huge hit was the ever popular slime station! The older kids enjoyed playing at the video game station. We also enjoyed round after round of musical chairs. A learning lesson is to always have a plan b. I didnt check the forecast before sending out the party invitations. My initial plan was to have an outdoor party with jumpers and space for the kids to run around. Instead, it was scheduled to POUR all day! I had to change my décor plans as well as ensure I had enough activities to keep the kids engaged. Overall, the day was amazing and the kids partied till they dropped.”
