Olympic Inspired Party Details: This is what Whitney shared about the party- “This was such a fun second birthday party for our son, Beau. So naturally, this became known as the BeauLympics. He’s an active, busy guy and with so many cousins, I thought this theme was perfect with the upcoming Olympics! I printed various labels with different countries and numbers. The guests were asked to choose a country to represent. The birthday boy was American and wore the #2. The kids also got to pick out their own colorful sweatband to wear during the events. We started the evening with our version of the Opening Ceremonies. This included a large parachute for all the kids (and any adults) who wanted in on the fun! The kids loved running underneath of it and switching places. Our birthday boy also had a brief walk with the Olympic torch — until he got overwhelmed by all the attention! We set the yard up with lots of different games and activities. The activities included the balance beam, long jump, hurdles, sprints, obstacle course, scooter races, hopscotch and a bean bag toss. It was laid back and guests could compete as they wished, with a few organized activities along the way. The food was delicious and made with love by family. A few highlights included a fruit version of the Olympic rings and some yummy gold medal gummies (Oriental Trading). The desserts were made by my sweet cousin and included cupcake Olympic torches, medal macaroons and an amazing red, white and blue birthday cake! The kids played hard and after dessert, each Olympian was given their gold medal! The kids loved the medals and took turns posing on our podium. (Unfortunately, the kids popped a few of the balloons by the podium!) We ended our BeauLympics by adding balls to the parachute — this was my favorite part! It was so exciting to fling the balls high in the air — the birthday boy even got a special ride! What a wonderful evening and lots of memories were made!
