It was always a favorite activity of mine to play “pretend” as my mother would call it. She was the queen of pretend and I was her willing princess. We would use blocks to create markets full of delicious doughnuts, cakes, and cookies, taking turns being the shopper and market employee, ready to take play money. So, when I saw this Supermarket Inspired Birthday Party, I immediately was transported back to my days of playing pretend with my mother. This is what Dolores said about the party- “When I was planning my son Matheus´party I wanted to chose a theme that would make him happy. So I had the idea to turn his favorite activity into a party: grocery. He loves coming with me to the supermarket and to buy, pay with card and play like he’s a cashier. The party was named “Empório Theheu”. All the souvenirs were as goods, as if everyone was shopping at his grocery store. He enjoyed it a lot. He favorite thing, like most, was the tent made of plastic tube and tissue. At the entrance, each child received a wallet with fake money to buy at Thetheu´s grocery store. Everything was made by me, my husband João Paulo, my mom Carmen, sister Luiza, cousing Roberta, and aunt Marina.”
