Modern Glam Halloween Party for Kids
Modern Glam Halloween Party Details: This is what Marissa shared about the party- “Halloween is not a commonly celebrated holiday here in South Africa – predominantly because of the stigma that surrounds it. Although I personally think it is incredibly fun especially for the little ones, I believe people around here still need a bit of convincing. So I did just that. I decided to do a “So Not Scary Halloween” set up to illustrate to people how you could use the basic elements of halloween in a happy and cheerful way and make it “so not scary”.
Modern Color Scheme
First off, I knew that red and black would be very stereotypical of Halloween so I steered clear from dark colours and opted for teals, oranges and copper. The combination was an unusual but subtle choice and once I started looking around, I found tons of sweets and treats to fit the colour scheme. I used a lovely little set from Meri Meri and added a few things here and there, but the cute little illustrations on their items made all the difference to keep it “so not scary”. I incorporated orange macarons and with a simple edible pen I drew pumpkin faces on. They looked BOO-tiful! I had biscuits made up to match the little napkin set from Meri Meri and they were equally as gorgeous. The black cake literally took the cake with the lovely BOO cake topper. One of my favourite parts of the shoot was the painted pumpkins. They looked incredible and was heaps of fun to make! Something easy for the whole family to do.” Are you as excited for Halloween as I am??
