Modern Boy Baby Shower Details:
This is what Lindsey shared about the party- “A 7-foot tall balloon stork, a friendship bracelet making station, and blueberry lemonade are just a few details from this baby shower that will inspire any mom-to-be! Twentieth Century Fox VP of Casting, Stephanie Levinson, was expecting a baby boy, so of course who better to host her celebration than her mentor, Sharon Klein, also part of the Fox family, and dear friend Joanna Garcia-Swisher. The ladies outdid themselves; there was not one detail missed.
Lindsey Hartsough, Magnolia Event Design, Owner & Principal Designer:
We loved designing this baby shower in honor of Stephanie. One of our previous brides, Sharon Klein, asked us to help her and her friend, Joanna Garcia-Swisher, plan a baby shower for their very dear friend, Stephanie Levinson. Sharons wedding was a three day event that left us just wanting to spend more time with her and her husband, Howard, so we jumped at the chance to plan a baby shower for her close friend. The room was filled with so much love for Stephanie and her baby boy, and it was an honor to be part of such a magical event.
Party Set-Up
Guests were greeted by a 7-foot tall balloon stork, mimicking the stork on the invitation, on a serene private patio at Tavern Los Angeles. There was no shortage of terrariums and flowers to make the environment feel cozy and lush. The tables were set with agate place cards that came in different shades of blue, and navy blue napkins with a custom embroidered white stork on them. The flowers on the pram from the invitation were recreated on the cake, and the balloons and beverage glasses used the same colors as the balloons on the liner of the invitation envelope. The menu was carefully created to allow guests to interact, socialize and experience the afternoon together with a family-style brunch. Servers placed individual cutting boards of specialty cheeses and charcuterie to cue when it was time for guests to take their seats. The hosts gave a warm welcome toast, and while the bubbles flowed guests continued to enjoy the family-style courses as they arrived.
Book and Favors
In lieu of a card, guests were asked to bring their favorite childhood storybook. This was to build a library for Baby Levinson. From new books, like The Wonderful Things You Will Be, to classics like The Little Prince, a thoughtful book accompanied every gift for the baby boy. We wanted a new and unique favor! So,we created a friendship bracelet making station. We stocked the station with semi-precious stones and accent beads in gold and silver. At the end of the shower, guests were given their personalized bracelets in small blue linen bags customized with their names on them. The bracelets were a huge hit!”
