Minnie Mouse Inspired “Wild One” Birthday Party
This is what April shared about the party- “For my last childs first birthday, I knew I wanted to go all out. I began designing my daughters Minnie Mouse inspired Wild One birthday party 3 months in advance. I wanted the party to be very girly and visually beautiful yet with a very chill boho vibe. To ensure the party still had the feeling of a first birthday, I decided to incorporate Minnie Mouse very subtly throughout the décor. To set the stage for the party we had a custom invitation designed, which included a Minnie Mouse dream catcher. Guests young and old were invited to sit on the floor at low tables filled with pillows and faux fur rug throws. The guests tables were decorated in eucalyptus garland and votives. We used teepees to hold gifts and cards.
Dessert Table
For the dessert table, I decided to go with a trio of cakes rather than an assortment of dessert. Minnie Mouse was incorporated into the dessert table in the cake designs, which were GORGEOUS! However, my favorite part of the dessert table was the custom floral crowned Minnie Mouse backdrop made of fresh eucalyptus and real flowers it was beyond AMAZING! Another décor item that was dear to my heart, was the first year picture display I handmade using olive branches from the backyard, string and feathers. It is one item from the party that we were able to save and hang in our home.
Entertainment and Venue
For entertainment, the kids enjoyed face painting and glitter tattoos. We had a craft table where kids were able to make arrows using sticks found in our backyard, felt cloth, and paint. We also brought in a vendor to make floral crowns for all of the guests, which was a HUGE hit! A learning lesson from the party is to always have a “Plan B”. I intended to have the party completely outside. However, the weather turned out to be less than favorable so I had to move a party for approx. 80 people all indoors. To still have an outdoor feel we strung market lights throughout the house.
