I’m so excited to share this post today. As many of you know, Michaels Stores and I have partnered up again for another fabulous year. I got to kick off the creative season by meeting all of my fellow Michaels Makers at the Michaels Makers Summit last week, and today I’m sharing all the details from the lovely event! There are 50 fabulous Michaels Makers this year, and Michaels brought us all together (from all over the nation, might I add) for an absolutely amazing weekend in Sonoma, California! It was absolutely AH-mazing.
In case you havent met all 50 of this years Makers, check out each of our blogs here! Follow along throughout the year and feel free to create projects with us by sharing on Instagram using #MadeWithMichaels on The Glue String. So we started off the weekend with an amazing welcome dinner. The ambiance was gorgeous, the food was absolutely delicious, and laughter filled the air.
Before we ate, all of us got to create a floral crown. LOVE.
At the end the evening we made delicious s’mores over an open fire. Do you follow Destiny from Just Destiny Mag?! If not, then you really should. She’s UBER talented and so beautiful on the inside and out!
The following morning we headed up the Sonoma mountains to an amazing estate tucked away from it all. The views were breathtaking. Michaels went above and beyond, decorating and creating the most incredible spaces and event ever!
We took four amazing classes (weaving, watercolor, paper flowers and image transfer) all taught by Michaels education partner, Creativebug! I have GREAT NEWS about the classes we took- each of them are available online for FREE on Michaels.com until 8/22 (you can re-create one or all of our summit projects)! The WATERCOLOR CLASS was taught by the talented Yao Cheng! You can take the same class for free right now, here!
Meeting all of the Michaels Makers was so much fun. They are a group of SUCH talented ladies, like the lovely Lucy from Craftberry Bush (painting her watercolor below). Such a beautiful person with such an amazing spirit and talent!
The weaving class was taught by Annabel Wrigley from Little Pincushion Studio.
The Creativebug lounge was awesome! Look at the adorable popsicle cart they provided (with delicious and fresh popsicles inside)!
Michaels left a message for Design Dazzle and I on our bathroom mirror the last night :).
The awesome paper flower class was taught by the talented Livia Cetti of The Green Vase. You can take the same class for FREE right now, here!
The super fun Image transfer class was taught by the amazing Courtney Cerruti. You can take the same class for FREE right now, here!
Thank you so much, Michaels Stores! Words can not express the gratitude I have for being invited to such an incredible summit! It was hands-down the most amazing sponsored event I have ever attended! Thank you, thank you! xo Kara
