Harry Potter Birthday Party Details:
Hazell’s party description- “When we were planning this party with Mommy Jenny, we all knew it was imperative to stay true to the key elements of Harry Potter. When guests walk in to the venue, our goal was for them to feel as if they were being transported to the world of Harry Potter, which should generally feel magical and fun with a little bit of mystery to it. We wanted for everything that people will see and experience to be reminiscent of what most of them have either read from the books or have seen in the movies. With the right play of colors, texture, realistic looking props and balance of design, we executed the following details as listed below:
Stage & Ceiling:
Right off the bat, we knew we had to recreate the Great Hall of Hogwarts. For us to be able to give justice to the idea, we knew we had to make the stage wide and tall, in order for it to be grand looking. The stage was 17ft in height and was made of 3D wood panels and columns. Some of the other elements that we decided to include were 3D Gryffindor knight statues, bookshelves and chandeliers to give emphasis to the overall look of the stage. The Great Hall of Hogwarts is also famous for its iconic ceiling decorations. It was highly necessary for us to put hanging candles and house banners ( made from real cloth with digitally printed HP and house logos ). To finish the look and make it more animated looking, we also decided to put 3D flying owls that were carrying letters and parcels, just like in the actual setting of Harry Potter.
Entrance:
The entrance, besides having the Platform 9 3\4 signage, had a setup that was meant to resemble a railway shop. All of the children who attended the party had a robe made for them, and they were individually sorted into their house before entering the venue. All the souvenirs, wands, etc., were displayed in this area. The best part is they were all free. <strong
Centerpiece:
The centerpiece decorations, amongst the party elements, also required the most intricate and realistic execution. The potion bottles were all made from scratch and with details as seen/read in the movies and in the books. We customized all of the potion bottle labels and incorporated Miguel’s name into all of it for a more personal approach to the theme. We used dry ice and put them on the cauldrons to create a smoke effect on the tables while guests were arriving. We put frames with characters from the book and the movies and also included clippings from the Daily Prophet. The books that were displayed had designs of the actual books being used during classes in the Harry Potter world.
Honeydukes:
Guests were given Wizarding money/stubs to claim their treats at the dessert station.
Photo Booth:
Was made to resemble the Diagon Alley, with customized newspaper clippings and signages of Miguel and his brother, Gab.”
