PARTY DETAILS:
This is what Julia said about planning the party- “Guilhermes parents came to us looking for a unique party and loved an UP party that we had already created for a babys birthday party last year. They connected to Disneys animation in many ways and thought it would be the perfect theme for their sons first birthday! Guilhermes dad said friends liked to call him Mr. Fredricksen when he started criticizing things and that he was also a boy scout when he was younger, so it was meant to be! Even though we really love the first UP party we decorated, for Guilherme we wanted to do something a little different and give him an original party of his own. Our first party was totally inspired by the flying house, blue skies and the colorful balloons. This time we wanted to bring more elements from the movie, giving special attention to the explorer side of the animation. When you entered the hall you could see some beautiful family pictures and the image the character Ellie painted on the fireplace wall in the movie. We also had a digits guest book so everyone could leave their print and in the end it would look like the balloons from the flying house. We put the step by step on the wall for everyone to read, giving that here in Brazil this idea for a guestbook is still pretty new. The guest tables were fairly simple and cute. White tablecloths, colorful napkins and a small suitcase with a tiny UP house on the top and a big latex balloon floating above them. You can download the 3D house here: http://family.go.com/printables/article-648972-disney-printable—up-house-with-balloons-t/ and we made a mural with photos of the last twelve months in the familys live since Guilherme was born. In each monthly picture we put a new boy scout medal in the printed frame and it turned out great. The dessert table was full of details from the movie! We tried to use a white base in everything to bring more light to the table and it would also give the guests a feel of being in the clouds. The sweets on this table turned out beautifully as is usually the case when you work with Isa Herzog! There were mail box cookies, rainbow cupcakes, cake pops in the shape of Mr. Fredricksens tenis ball cane, tiny cupcakes with his tie and Russels boy scout flag, truffles decorated with clouds, tennis balls and Ellie Badges and, of course, the three main characters of the movie made with perfection and the incredible three tier cake with Carl and Ellies house anchoring lots of balloons! We also had yummy rolled brigadeiros of different flavors and creamy vanilla and cookies brigadeiros by Black Tie Brigadeiros. To finish the look we put some movie elements in front of the desserts, like Dougs loved tennis balls, a big glass jar imitating the savings for Par adise Falls, our clients boy scout uniform and a bunting with all the beautiful vintage style images we could find about this animation. Of course everything looks better when you also have a great photographer on the team, so we thank Giselle Sauer for the great images she always provide us with!”
