Dig In Construction Party

This is what Tai Jung said about styling the party:

“My little guy, Louis is at an age where he’s into all kinds of trucks and construction machineries. When he was asked about the theme of his 3rd birthday party, of course he picked a theme around all mighty trucks!

DECORATIONS

The party was held at a local park with 24 guests, including 8 little ones. I used the classic construction color palette of yellow, orange and black to create a rough and tough yet playful vibe. For the backdrop, I put an awesome balloon cloud and incorporated a cool truck garland on top of the cake table. It really helped set the scene and made the table pop! I also used a road tape to “path” the roads on the table to create some extra fun. This road tape set is so versatile! It lets you create instant roads anytime anywhere to keep those little hands busy. :) I got all the decorations and tablewares from Momo Party, an online party boutique. They curate unique party supplies by theme which makes busy parents’ life so much easier! :)

FOOD

I got an amazing construction cake by Daphne at DH Cake Studio and topped it with an adorable digger candle. To mimic the dirt and rocks on the trucks, I also prepared some dark brigadeiros, the Brazilian version of chocolate truffles (my husband came from Brazil and it’s a birthday tradition there). Lastly, I got a big truck shaped cake stand not only the cupcake holder but also the centerpiece of the table. I really loved how it all turned out!

ENTERTAINMENT

In terms of party activities, I set up a fun bulldozer tent that I got from Target next to the kid’s dining area and boy the kids had a blast! There was also a sand area at the park (conveniently!) so I brought some sand truck toys and hid some treasures in the sand for the little ones to dig. I also found a dump truck piñata at a local store and filled it with Louis’ favorite goodies. Louis and the kids had so much fun at the piñata time!

PARTY FAVORS

For the party favors, since the guests were mostly pre-schoolers, I prepared some wooden mini trucks and some truck temporary tattoos in the construction party bags. They looked absolutely lovely!”
