This is what Ana shared about styling the party- “I started planning my daughter’s baptism as soon as I got pregnant. Living in Canada, I wanted to travel to Brazil to see my family with the new baby around Christmas time. So we booked the church and the party room months before Isadora was born. My mother Cecilia is the responsible for this amazing event. As the official party planner of the family, she took care of every detail! When we were kids our birthday parties were amazing and now that my mother has grandchildren, she has taken a professional cake decorating courses so she could make the beautiful cakes. Add Pinterest to the mix, she is limitless! The theme was purple butterflies – this was also Isadora’s baby shower theme and her room. My friend and photographer Eva Mocha took her newborn photos to try out some new techniques and, surprise, one of the photos is Isadora as a butterfly! Because everyone was invited through Facebook, I used this picture in the Facebook event. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Paróquia Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro on a warm summer day before Christmas Eve in São Paulo. We were lucky it had already been decorated with flowers for a wedding later in the day. The reception was held at the church’s simple party room to make it easier for all the guests (who were probably still scrambling for last minute Christmas gifts). My mother enlisted the help of her friend Simone Carvalho, from Lys Flores e Afins, for the flower arrangements and rental of the tables and linens. The baskets for the balloons came from a local basket maker. The cake and all sweets were made by my mother Cecilia (including the sugar butterflies decorating the cake).
