Bear Cub Club BroNut Birthday Party Details:
This is what Sarah shared about styling the party- “Twins Caspian and Quills Third Birthday Party was inspired by both their obsession with all things BIRTHDAY! They are both equally excited by Balloons, Birthday Cakes, Tea Parties and of course, Donuts. During the planning process of party prep, each decision revolved around how I imagined the boys would like it? I kept envisioning their reactions as I wanted to make everything as exciting and user friendly for them and their little friends.
Manly Party Setting
The party was set in our backyard with a brand new cubby house built as the backdrop. This was set up and decorated as a little bake house, named the BroNut Shop. The outside was painted a caramel colour with giant acrylic sprinkles scattered all over to appear like a decorative donut, hallowed by a massive asymmetrical balloon garland in white and pastel minty blue colours. The BroNut Shop was set to be floating on a sea of different sized balloons, with a big side window and sign saying Swim Up Sugar Fix Bar that the children could order play pretend treats from. The inside was painted a simple white and filled with a freshly painted white toy kitchen, matt white pots and pans, shelves displaying chrome play pretend baking equipment and silver tea party toys. Gifts were piled inside the cubby ready to be opened. These gifts were all play pretend wooden toy cakes, ice creams, biscuits and donuts. The Donut theme became a BroNut theme as a twist to include the fact it was two little Bros(brothers) sharing the same birthday.
The Shop
The outdoor deck in front of the BroNut Shop was set up with low picnic tables surrounded in comfy mismatched cushions, resembling a unisex appropriate tea party. Silver plates and cake stands were all laden with treats, along with tea pots and cups polished and sparkling in the afternoon sun. Place settings were simple, with chocolate milkshakes, fairy floss and carob Bango Bears waiting for each little guest. The birthday cakes were designed to resemble two upright BroNuts giving each other a tiny fist pump! Normally this cartoon type of cake decor is not a style Id think to choose, but it was so appropriate for the overall theme, and again, each styling choice was made with the boys reactions in mind. These cakes along with the white Donut stand filled with 46 hanging donuts gave great drama a height to the overall decor.
Delicious Food for the Bro’s
The party was scheduled at 3pm, which meant the food was kept simple and purely snack style. Popcorn, muffins, mini ice cream cakes, chocolate moose and nearly 100 donuts were all arranged either side of the tea party table on a vintage style trolly cart and kids height milk bar stand labeled Sugar And Spice And All Things Nice. Club sandwichs, fruit and other beverages were available inside the house. A little kids picnic table with sun umbrella was set up all ready to paint and decorate ceramic cupcakes and ice creams as a craft activity for those interested. Hired ball pits and slide were set in two locations for little ones to let off energy tumbling about in between playing and eating party treats.”
