I’m excited to share my August Michaels Makers project with you today. This BACK TO SCHOOL DIY YARDSTICK SCHOOLWORK + ART BOARD was super easy to make, and is ready to hold all my kids’ school projects! I’m going to love having a place to hang all of their masterpieces. You will need: 1 thin 6×36 inch board 6 yardsticks (I purchased mine at Michaels) Jumbo Clothes Pins (from Michaels) Metal Art Clamps (I purchased mine at Michaels) Flat Phillips 4 x 1/2 screws 2 Wall Hanging Hooks Hot Glue gun Drill
Step One: Line your first yardstick up with the top of your board (making sure it’s even and flush with the edge) and screw the yardstick onto the board on both ends (about 4 inches in from the edge).
Step Two: Repeat step one with all yardsticks, lining each yardstick up directly underneath the other as shown in the photo, until your board is completely covered.
Step Three: Nail two wall hanging hooks to the back of your board as shown above. Step Four: Using a hot glue gun (I used my industrial glue gun because it gets extremely hot and creates a secure bond), carefully glue your clothes pins and metal hooks onto your yardstick board, spacing them apart as desired.
Step Five: Hang on the wall and viola! You are now ready to display all your kids fun school projects!
