Check out this Sugar Cookie and Royal Icing Recipe post by Wholesale Party Supplies to get started… After your baked circular sugar cookies are cooled down, use the edible black marker to draw the facial features onto each cookie. Use a picture of each shark to make the different features.

First, mix your royal icing to a flood type consistency. Mix in some red and a little black gel food coloring to get a dark red color. Pipe that onto the cookie to create the mouth.

Use the same type of consistency but do not color the royal icing. We’ll want to keep the part around the mouth of the shark white. Pipe the white onto the cookie.

Eyes

Using the same white icing, fill in the circular eyes.

Once the eyes are dry, you’ll want to pipe the color of each shark onto the rest of the body. Mix flood type consistency royal icing and make individual colors consisting of blue, yellow, rose, green, and light pink. Pipe these onto the head of the cookie.

Colorful Hues

Now, while we’re waiting for the rest of the icing to harden, we can go ahead and finish up the eyes and mouth. Pipe on black icing to each eye, use the scribe and using a circular motion, slowly drag the icing out to where you want it to be. This way, if you pipe an uneven size, you can even it out using the scribe. Don’t forget to leave some white on the eye! Add in the teeth with white royal icing. Again, you can use the scribe to pull at the top/bottom of each triangle to make the teeth look sharp. After that, add a little white dot to each eye.

Now, don’t forget those final features!

Add eyebrows and a mustache for Grandpa shark. Using the same icing make little white glasses for Grandma shark. Both Grandma shark and Mommy shark have eyelashes – use the edible black marker to draw on three lashes for each eye. Baby Shark has a little red tongue. Use the edible red marker and draw a half-circle shape onto the bottom of the baby shark’s mouth to create the tongue. Mix a little black gel coloring with lemon extract to get a light grey color. Use that and a small food-safe paintbrush and make the nostrils for each shark along with the details under the mouth for Grandpa and Grandma shark!

Let all the icing dry and there you have it! Baby shark and family!

“If you’ve been listening to the song on repeat, you deserve a treat. Turn your little one’s favorite song into a dessert for his or her birthday party. These sugar cookies were decorated to look like each of the fun sharks featured in the popular song. It might be hard not to sing along when it comes to decorating your baby shark cookies.” – Brittany DeMauro Love Kara’s Party Ideas?
