How precious is this APRIL SHOWERS BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Danielle Arcese of Cuttie Puttie? All the party elements are divine. I think the “Pocketful of Posies” cookies are my favorite! Danielle said- Spring is definitely in the air here in NY, and April’s rainy days are around the corner. But the hope of May’s beautiful blooming flowers is what inspired me to create this dainty spring collection! I designed this collection for a sweet April 3rd birthday party, but it could work for a baby shower or bridal shower too! A dainty floral and raindrops pattern makes up the main background design of this collection. Instead of a blank white center background, I opted for a faint rain cloud and shower pattern to add to the rainy feel. The text is done in a subtle grey color, instead of the standard black. After all, rainy days are grey. For the table, I opted for a pale aqua blue backdrop, framed at the top with white tissue paper pom clouds. I strung a few hand cut rain drops from clear fishing string from the center of each of the pom poms. The grey mini dresser I scored at my local Home Goods store, and the set of mini cupcake bell jars I purchased from Save on Crafts. Milk glass cake stands in pale pink and jade green I recently purchased from Mosser glass Company. There were raindrop shaped cake pops sprinkled with sanding sugar to add to the water feel and chocolate covered Marshmallow Tulips, topped with pink pearl nonpareils. I displayed these on mint green and white striped paper straws, and slipped some hand cut paper leaves on the straw to give my Tulips leaves. There were also mini white cotton candy clouds, pistachio macarons from the delicious Bouchon Bakery here in NYC and pink lemonade flavor filled chocolate truffles with dainty chocolate flowers on top. And there was a pink ribbon-iced buttercream mini cake, Jumbo rose buttercream cupcakes, and blue fruit punch rain water refreshments. Favors included beautiful floral patterned sugar cookies from the talented Ren of Dainty Delights (www.daintydelightsinc.etsy.com). I tucked the sugar cookie favors in adorable doily pockets, to make Pocketful of Posies for the little guests to take home. The guests also received a cute pot of lip gloss shaped as little flowers.
