“Lemon the Good Life” Party Details:
This is what Lucinda shared about styling the party- “As the owner of the Los Angeles play and party space the COOP, I have it easy when finding a location for my son’s birthday, but this year I decided as we had a new house that we should switch and do it at home. My younger son loves lemons and my older son just wanted something GOOD so we decided on “Lemon the Good life”. (I love a good pun) I believe hand made elements really make it extra special so I went to work creating lemon party-time sunglasses for the table which looked so cute.
Balloon Decor and Cakescape
I have been loving all the balloon installations on Pinterest so I decided the best backdrop would be a yellow balloon wall. I spent the night before blowing up hundreds of balloons and then put up some chicken wire behind the party table to hang them on. Julie of Blue Cupcake created the most adorable fern cookies and a wonderful lemon slice cake. It was SO hot the day of the party that when I placed the cake on the table I accidentally stuck my finger in it, so I had to hide the holes with a piece of fern.
Decor and More
I placed ferns on the light fixture above the desert table and lots of lemons on my Buffalo head. I wanted to dress up my bar cart, so I decided on the FAB North Star Balloon cursive “Love” as the main piece. The gold didn’t go with the theme, so I sprayed it yellow and the effect was perfect. For the Rose Bar outside, I purchased some banana leaf fabric on Etsy and used a light box to let people know that it was a Rose kind of day. For fun, we brought in a inflatable water slide and the kids had a blast. It was such a happy, shine party and SO much FUN! We really were ‘Lemon the good life’.”
