“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” Halloween Party Details:This is what Sherry said about planning the party- “This year we decided to start a family tradition for the fall season, to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”. I created a snack bar in our living room so we could enjoy snacks while watching the movie. I started out with the idea to create a tablecloth that looked like Charlie Brown’s shirt. I found the perfect shade of yellow for the tablecloth and created the chevron pattern using black poster board. I used some heavy duty tape to roll up on the back and attach it to the tablecloth. It held up better than I imagined it would! For the backdrop, I used packing tape to piece together two large foam boards and then wrapped it with orange polka dot wrapping paper. I created the speech bubble in photoshop and printed it out to hang on the backdrop. I found these adorable Peanuts Gang cut-outs on Oriental Trading and knew they would add the perfect touch to my table. I ended up using Snoopy, Woodstock, Linus, and Charlie Brown. Linus and Charlie Brown were attached to dowel rods so I could put them in my “pumpkin patch”. Snoopy and Woodstock were attached to a frame that held a sign for the popcorn bar. For the food, we served simple items that could be picked up last minute and were budget friendly. We had brownies, cookies, candy, popcorn, and orange soda. I came up with a character for each food item that coincided with the first letter of their names. For the popcorn bar I served these toppings: peanut butter candy, milk chocolate candy, candy corn with peanuts, and lemon candy. I had black and white polka dot bags sitting out so they could fill their bags with popcorn and toppings. And last, but not least, I found these adorable “Great Pumpkin” themed chocolate bars at the dollar store so I just had to grab one of each design to add to the table. We weren’t able to eat all those sweets in one night, so the candy bars served as a “take home” favor”. Love Kara’s Party Ideas?
